Housing

Alright, I'll start on the whole house situation.

First off, this house has major issues and the landlord is a lawyer (yeah, that right there is never good, having a lawyer for a landlord) and he's pretty busy and he just bought this house. He apparently doesn't know what to look for because this house is ready to give way underneath. There has been trapped moisture inside the 4 foot tall basement for so long that the beams, floor, and anything and everything else is rotten and moldy.

So with all that said might I also add that the landlord is extremely hard to get ahold of? I'll call him and I will only hear word of what he wants done, what I want done, etc..., through someone else. I'll occasionally get ahold of him, but he always puts the repair responsibilities on someone else.

To make a long, a really really Really, long story short (Believe me, I could go on and on) I'm glad I only have a one year lease with him. He has not impressed anyone in this town and I mention to people that he's my landlord and they feel sorry for me and try and give me advice.

So, this landlord has no previous "home Shopping skills" and bought a house that could cost him 40,000 in foundation repairs (oh, did I mention that the foundation is shot?)

So, here I am trying to make the best out of the situation. I've gotten things that needed to be fixed by people he had do it, that also dislike him.

Isn't it interesting how I find myself in interesting situations, all in the name of "dogs!" ha ha

more on that later, my casserole needs to come out of the oven.......

Oh, that bites. I hope he gets his act together and gets the house stabilized and repaired soon. Hoping you won't get sick from all the mold and water damage.

Oh no, what a headache :( Sorry to hear about the landlord problems, good thing it's only a one year lease. Hope things start going better soon!

Ugh! The things we do for our love of these dogs!

Hopefully the next year isn't too unbearable. I hate dealing with people through messages and other people. I really feel for you!

Oh, the joys of living on someone else's property. I know this well. At least it sounds like your landlord is having things repaired by someone who actually knows what they're doing. My landlord "tries" to fix everything himself, but most of the time he just doesn't have a clue!

I love how the Internet seems to want to scream at me "YOU ARE NOT ALONE!"

I just got out of a really bad landlord situation AND I am going to be a puppy raiser (starting Sept. 5... from reading a little bit of your blog, I am pretty sure you have met my puppy!).

I'm glad I found your blog!
