Past Weekend

Alright, I'm a little late posting this, but alas! I do have good reason. I was waiting on pics from someone, but apparently they don't have an urgency of getting pics to me so i can blog, as I do :)

I made a 3 day trip to Iowa on the night of April 2nd to the afternoon of April 5th.
Sammy, as some of you know, did not make the trip with the clan because he is with Lisa and Ellie. So JD, Annie, Tara, Aspen, Me and my Mom made the trip to Iowa. Why was my Mom, who lives in Iowa, making the trip with me? well she came down on the afternoon of the 1st to Kansas City to attend a Fundraiser for KSDS. It was a magic show featuring Las Vegas's own Gary Carson and his wife. It was wonderful! It was almost two hours long and we raised quite a large amount for KSDS!

Friday wasn't too adventurous. I got to sleep in until 10:30 then I took a shower and I headed out with my mom to do yard work (why I took a shower, I don't know)
If some of you can recall, I helped my parents with their lawn care business very frequently. When you have around 80 accounts, it helps to have help!

I helped her out until around 5 then I met up with some of my friends. We hung out at a friends house and didn't do too much of movie watching. Watched an episode of Dancing with the Stars (which I do not watch so I couldn't tell ya which one it was)
and just kind of hung out and had smore's :)

Saturday, My Dad worked on my Blazer. It needed a new lower left ball joint and needed to have the tire balanced and rotated. I saved a few hundred by having him do it. I still paid for the parts, but that's nothing compared to the labor costs that's involved.

One of my brother's and his family came over for a cookout so I got to see three of my nieces and I headed into town to pick up another brother. He sold his car and hasn't gotten another one yet. I made a quick stop beforehand, and headed into my favorite store........Tractor Supply! I had to say Hi to everyone who helped my raise Cobra. Aspen came with me and when I told them that she is Cobra's half-sister, they just flipped! We talked about the days of Cobra and what's going on in my life. I really truly miss that place and would've have stayed there forever! Loved working there! All the people are amazing, at least this bunch :)

After we talked awhile the assistant manager, who really assisted me in the harder distraction work of puppy raising, wanted to hang out with me after work so I'd let her know later if I could or not.
After I got my brother and headed back to my parents, We started cooking all the food and made some pies and it was so nice to have a home cooked meal! When your out on your own, you don't get that very often :)

I called Emerald, My previous Assistant Manager, and met up with her at the Movie theatre. Aspen didn't enjoy the movie because she just fell asleep. Apparently you have to be a creative director to please puppies in training :) We saw Fast and Furious and thought it was fabulous! Those movies always are. Afterward, Emerald and I got to talking and her boyfriend has a '68 Dodge Coronet. So we headed out tho their place to take a peak. All numbers matching, Original parts, 426 Hemi, Everything! I was so in love! Wasn't quite done being rebuilt, but I wouldn't care, I would take it in a heartbeat!
After drooling over the car, Aspen got to play with a 4 month old Lab/Border Collie cross. His name was Grizzly and boy was he ever! At 4 months he was practically the same size as 7 month old Aspen! His paws were like bear claws! He was a sweetie though. They romped around in the garage (which also housed the '68 Dodge which had me worried )for a good 20 minutes and then I headed out.

Sunday was just a slow day. My mom and I went shopping in the early afternoon and I hit the road at around 4:30ish, which is the latest I've ever left! Surprisingly, and I wasn't speeding either, I got home around 10 ish. I just think it went fast because I wasn't following anyone slow, there was no construction, different things like that.

Sorry I don't have pics, had a camera catastrophe (need to get a new one soon!) and was waiting on someone to send them to me.
