It's Confirmed......

Well fellow puppy raisers and working teams, I have official news. I will be indeed, returning Cobra to KSDS on April 26th. I actually haven't gotten a formal letter or anything, but Cobra will be 2 on April 30th and since they turn them in around their 2nd B-day and since I'll be down there that weekend anyway for the spring graduation, I asked the trainers if I coould make one trip and they said that's fine. So Cobra will be leaving me on that date.
Gosh, when I first got him I know that in the back of my head that I had to give him up, and when I talk to people, I also tell people he's not mine that he's the schools, you know, blah blah blah. Anyway, It's just...........why does it have to be so soon?

I know, for a fact, that just last week he was 20 pounds and trying to figure out how to safely go down the 2 steps to our house without crashing at the bottom. I also know that last week, he was 30 pounds and decided to play a game with a cat which ended in him whimpering away to the safety of Tara and Annie who really wanted nothing to do with him at the time :) It was only yesterday that he was 40 pounds and finally realized the "secret" way to open the garbage can :)

I tell you!....... It was only yesterday.............It had to have been.................wasn't it?

Can't wait to see him *tear* graduate. What a good little (okay, leggy) boy *tear* you are. *sniff*

Geeze, Sarah, why did you have to go and make me cry?

Hey Sarah,

I'd be happy to add you but you didn't leave an email address :( Email me at puppy_face2(at)yahoo(dot)com and I'll send you an invite.

Enjoy all the lasts with your boy. It sounds and looks like you've prepared him well :)

Do you know if Mamba is being returned at the same time?

Sarah and Romeo said...

probably not, Mamba and the other snakes haven't gotten their letters. It's just personally easier for me to return him now than have to go back in 2 maybe 3 weeks time from graduation, ya know?

Sarah I want to personally thank you and the other puppy raisers from KSDS for giving so much of your life and heart to these puppies. I am a service dog recipient of KSDS and I know personally how hard it is going to be to say good bye to Cobra. My "puppy" of 10 years just past 3 weeks ago tomorrow. Cherish every last moment. When Cobra gets his handler hopefully y'all will stay in touch. I will be getting a yellow lab in July to take Shocker's place. Thank you again for all you do.

Hi Karen! It's good to hear from a Service dog team! Yeah, Its sure is going to be hard, but I have good people like you, other puppy raisers and teams, getting me through it. :) Thanks again and I wonder who you'll get? I have an idea but you never really know until it gets closer, i guess. Hey if you want to drop me an e-mail, I'd love to talk more! Thanks for commenting!
