PupsDaze

I sure do have a lot of posting to do to get caught up so I'm going to just throw myself right into it :)

On the weekend of August was the annual PupsDaze that KSDS puts on as a weekend filled with training, advice, and fellowship. It's a chance for us to get one-on-one time with trainers, see all the pups in a certain litter and compare (we all know that's the fun part:) and have an all around great time while getting direction.
Doniphan did great! The first day took a but more work because we don't have the opportunity to get out and about with other dogs, so he was a bit distracted on that aspect, but once he realized they were there for the same reasons, well, he just calmed right down.

We got to see 6 (including Doni) out of the 10 Kansas County litter and we got a big group picture with them. Two of them were sooo big compared to Doni and he is no small dog mind you!

I got to see many friends!! Lisa and Ellie were there along with Miriam and Mosier!! It was great to see everyone and their pups.

We got to practice our commands with some fun distraction training games. We had to weave through popcorn, hot dogs, and large moving objects. Doniphan did great! Loose leash most of the time too. The only thing is it takes him about 100 years to sit :) Not sure why he has to be so slow, but its his personality I guess. Needless to say, when we played a game where we had to compete against others for the fastest sit, we didn't get very far :)

On a side note, it was really interesting to be back there again as a puppy raiser again and not a trainer. It was great seeing everyone and being back yet it felt so weird! Sometimes I wanted to walk into buildings that required a key, start doing the yard work, things like that :) It was good to be back though and am glad I had that opportunity. I even drove past my old house. Was wondering what the new renter would think if I would have crashed there for the night.... It all felt so real, like I was on vacation and was now back.

Overall it was a wonderful weekend. We had thousands of dollars in raffle prizes and raised alot of money for KSDS. I am so thankful to be apart of this organization :)

Ellie lost too because she's a pokey sitter! It just takes them a little while longer to get the butt on top of those long legs down to the floor!

Sounds like the whole event was a bit surreal for you. Glad you had a good time. It sounds like lots of fun.
