All right, I was planning to have these done by now, but I slept in really late :) So here I go:
I will start off with the bad news. I got THE LETTER! You know, that one that comes in a standard paper size envelope that has the name of the school on it, this case KSDS, and then your name? Although funny thing, mine didn't actually come that way. Doni's letter came i think 2 weeks before Christmas and the way it came, I thought nothing of it. I check my mailbox, see some Christmas card sized letters and started opening them, one was from a sibling, the other from a co-worker and the last was from KSDS! I thought that it was very thoughtful of them to send all their volunteers a Christmas card.
I open it up and as i do a letter falls out, i don't even think twice about it, just think that it's a Christmas donation letter asking to give, ya know. So I unfold it and start reading.....words jump out at me like Doniphan, Return, Advance in Training, the typical words. I think as i was reading it i was grabbing for my lighter at the same time, maybe if I burn the evidence then they have nothing on me saying I ran away with the dog! sound good?
So needless to say, Doni gets returned non other than this weekend :( It will be sad, but his time has come as all the other dogs before him.
Now for the good news. The same day I drop off Doni, I get my hands immediately refilled with new love...the love of a new PIT!! I have never handed a dog in and the same day get a puppy so we shall see how I handle it. It will be a Lab. I told them I didn't care about color or sex so we shall see! That will help a little bit, at least that's what I'm hoping.
I do not know the theme either. I will get told the thing and the name that goes along with that the day i pick the pup up. But here's the kicker, I was heading down there to go to Miriam's wedding (our very own Miriam with Mosier) and wanted to kill two birds with one stone so i asked if I could drop Doni off a week early than I am supposed to and pick up the puppy too. They agreed, so I will actually have to be quiet on the name until all the other puppy raiser's get their pups. It will be hard, but it's only another week, lol, which can turn into years it seems like!
I am both saddened and happy, I haven't had a puppy in so long it will be interesting and you can bet your buttons that I will be updating more :)
